Hailing from Manchester England, Ingested is a whirlwind of a band. Crazy kicks, killer riffs, and vocals that bring it all together! What I really like about these guys is that they're a death metal band that isn't afraid to think outside of the traditional Death Metal box and take chances. The evolution of death metal is here, and Ingested is leading the pack.

The bands newest release is called "The Surreption". You can find uploaded tracks on their Myspace. Ingested offers many different influences and metal genres spliced into a frenzied, yet very organized chaotic sound. They have something for everyone. If brutal death is what you're into, they'll split your skull. If grind is your poison, they'll inject your veins. If old school hardcore chorus chanting is your fancy, Ingested will be pumping fists along side of you! So on and so forth... This makes for a very enjoyable listen with twists and turns that will make you headbang like a beast, break things/yell or just drive real fast (I drive for a living and had Ingested blasting). I find all these different elements blend very well with the Death Metal genre that these guys have obviously mastered. There's never a dull moment when listening to Ingested's The Surreption.

Being a musician, the first thing I listen for when giving a new album/band a preview is the guitar work, and the quality and talent of the drummer. I honestly can't pick out any flaws in this wonderfully produced album, top notch! I'm very impressed with the guitar performance and the face melting, neck breaking riffs. The amp tone used is heavy, crunchy, and still very audible. You can clearly hear every note the guitarist is playing. The drummer in this band is a full blown maniac. His grasp of timing and time changes is impeccable. His blasts and kicks are almost inhuman. He is definitely the fuel that powers the mighty Ingested machine.

I would highly recommend Ingested - The Surreption to any fan of extreme metal. I honestly wish I would have found this band sooner, as they have everything I look for in a metal band/album. I enjoyed them so much ,that I NEEDED to get their 2 previous album releases. If you get this album , you won't be disappointed so go out and get it!

PS: The only thing that I found ..well didn't find with Ingested was the lack of guitar solos and leads. A true death metal song always has a solo haha
